1. Community Guidelines

LankaChat is meant to be a usable, low-friction place for conversation. That only works when people use the platform without spamming, harassing, or making the space hostile for others.

  • Be respectful in public rooms, private DMs, random chat, and video chat.
  • Do not spam, flood messages, or send the same opener repeatedly.
  • Do not threaten, harass, impersonate, or target other users.
  • Do not share explicit, abusive, or unsafe content.
  • Do not pressure strangers for personal details, money, or off-platform contact.

If a conversation is not going well, the expected behavior is simple: stop, leave, or move on instead of escalating it.

2. Chat Safety Guide

Treat every new conversation carefully, especially in DMs, random chat, and video chat. Do not assume another user is trustworthy just because they seem friendly at first.

  • Do not share your phone number, home address, school, workplace, or passwords.
  • Be careful with requests to move quickly to another app or social account.
  • Start in text chat before moving to voice or video when possible.
  • Leave immediately if someone becomes abusive, sexual, manipulative, or threatening.
  • Use headphones and a neutral background in video chat if you want more privacy.

The safest habit on LankaChat is to keep control of your pace. You do not owe anyone more access just because they asked for it.

3. How Reporting And Moderation Work

LankaChat uses a mix of product controls, reporting paths, and admin review. If something goes wrong, users should not have to handle abuse alone.

  • Use available report flows when someone is abusive, threatening, or clearly breaking the rules.
  • Leave the room, end the random chat, or stop replying if the interaction feels unsafe.
  • Image uploads are checked through moderation before they are accepted.
  • Support and moderation issues can also be sent through the Contact page.

Reports are most useful when they are sent close to the incident and include enough detail for review. Moderation decisions may include removing content, restricting access, or taking further action when behavior clearly harms the platform or other users.

4. Beginner Guide To Using LankaChat

If you are new, start with the simplest flow first. Join a public room, choose a clear username, and spend a few minutes seeing how people are already talking before jumping into private chat.

  • Use public chat rooms to meet people and join group discussion.
  • Move to DMs only when a one-to-one conversation makes sense.
  • Try random chat if you want anonymous matching.
  • Use video chat only after you feel comfortable with the conversation.
  • If you need help, open chat with admin or use the contact form.

A good first rule is: public first, private later, video last. That gives you more control and usually leads to better conversations.
